My passion began as a child, watching my dad sharpen knives. I was in awe that my dad could make knives so sharp they would shave. My interest grew into a desire to make my own. Seeing knives in magazines I thought were works of art, made me determined to give it a try. My first knife was made from a brass propeller, steel from a Starrett saw blade, and a white tail antler, and was made with only a bench grinder and a hand held belt sander I positioned in a vice.
Since 1989 I have made in excess of 500 knives. I specialize in fixed blades and am most well known for my skinners and fillets. I do stock removal only and prefer working with CPM steels and stabilized wood. All of my knives are made to order. No two are exactly the same.
