Walt, I forgot something, sorry. If your looking for a good knife that will do what you've talked about, your probably going to want to be in the 57-59 range on the Rockwell scale, any more and you may risk chipping the edge or worse, snapping it. I'd stay closer to 57, imho. Good luck. Wayne

Not saying my procedure or tools are the best or correct methods, but I made a homemade 8-1/4" hollow grind wheel that seems to work ok for me. I have heard of 10" or 12" and do recall someone here mentioning a 20" wow that's big! Wayne

I like the premise, but man they beat the s$&t out of those poor guys with bad or unknown steel and very short time slots, I'd hate to be rushed like that and have to deal with all of the unknowns. But it is entertaining the way they keep the show moving and I'm sure the guys know this stuff...
