Reamer size for 1/8" stop pin?

Bob, Glad you posted this since I haven't placed an order yet. I just adjusted my calipers to the two measurements to get a real idea if the differences and it's more considerate than I thought. John

Reamer size for 1/8" stop pin?

Thanks for the reply. I have about 5 things still in my cart on your site. I think I will add some stop pins as well. The stop pins I currently have measure right at .125. So I will look for a reamer in the size .110

Reamer size for 1/8" stop pin?

I have a question for you all regarding a reamer size. I am working on my frame lock whenever I have time, which isn't much lately unfortunately. My question is regarding the reamer size I need to purchase for getting a AKS hardened 1/8" stop pin to be press fit. My goal is to have it slip in...

Making a slipjoint in 100 pictures or less.

Hello Rex. I put a lot of thought into ways to relieve the liners without a mill but never did figure a good way to do it. So I didn't relieve them. Also, I didn't use any washers, and it's still butter smooth. John

KMG red grinding cupped from use?

Hello everyone. Needed to ask others here about an issue I have with my red KMG grinding wheel. I used it a good amount to grind and shape metal and it had become cupped toward the center. I wanted to try to use it to practice some hollow grinding but don't think it's a great idea until I get a...

    need help with counter bore

That is correct. I'm also referring to this as well. Pivot pin is 3/16 diameter where the blade fits, and the pivot pin(collar?) is 3/8 or .375" where it needs to be recessed in the titanium handle material

    need help with counter bore

I'm running into the same issue with some Timascus I'm using to make a frame lock. Don't have a mill and have the 3/16 pivot from AKS. Been trying to find someone near me who has a mill I can use or just get a counter bore and do what Ed suggested. Bob, let us know and see how it goes with your...

Hello John. They aren't that critical. I just chose those because they were the thickness that I wanted to use. Some use thinner liner material. Totally up to you.
