    chasing scratches

    I'm on the same page as LRB.... I change directions when changing grit size to make sure all of the scratched from the pervious grit are gone. I also use an overhead adjustable light to get the glare on the shinny surface just right so that I can see any un wanted scratches that need to go... Jeff

    Kevin, This is the first blade I have drop in 10 years. It was completely my fault as I was in a hurry last night due to my 5 yr old daughter having a christmas concert and didnt follow my regular proccess of put it into a cooling rack that I use so there is no chance of it getting knocked off...

    Dont drop your freshly queched 1095 blade!! :sad: I set it on my bench to finish cooling, set my oven for 425 and when reach back to grad it. It went sliding off the bench....:sad: All you can do is laugh at this point....lol

    Thanks guys.. I'm really starting to love stabilized wood. Finish sand with 1200 grit and buff with a little white compound....Done.. No messy liquids or gels to hand rub.
