This is an interesting read and the link posted earlier was very beneficial, thanks! I am pretty new to knives and what gets me interested was looks and then I think is it something I would carry and be durable. My views will change with time and experience I am sure.

There is also Cerakote but I am sure it would scratch also. Its a ceramic based coating that is said to be much better than duracoat. Larry

I think that if I put mine outside I may consider a non-canister model to save some money. The canister is supposed to filter the air down to 1 micron but if its outside I don't know if it would have a purpose.
