    Auodad Horn

Thanks for the kind words guys! Kayla appreciates the photo comments as well. Tracey I think auodad is short for "stinks worse than any goat on the face of the earth". You keep smelling them days after you have skinned them.

    twisting damascus problems

Bubba-san And Mr. Bump, thanks for the replies. The thoughts you both mentioned are what my brother in law and I both discussed. "There is allot of waste steel even if all goes right" I also wondered if this was just a natural part of the twist pattern. It does split or cause some sort of...

    twisting damascus problems

Guys, My brother in law has built a small press and started learning how to make damascus. So far we've made a total of two bars lol the second being a twist pattern where we ran into trouble. The billet started 3 in long and we drew it out to a cube of around 8". We pressed on both side the...

    Damascus Handle Slip Joint

Thanks Wade and James. I just wanted to try something a little different this go around. The damascus didn't add near as much weight as I expected. I would keep trimming and contouring the handle until the weight was down. I honestly don't think you would notice difference until you had a normal...

    Damascus Handle Slip Joint

Been a while, here's a cpm-154 blade and spring slip joint, along with damascus handles. The handle is milled for relief. Also first time cutting a nail nick with a stone. I did several practice runs and no problems, then the edge chipped out while cutting this one :12:

    Grinding nail nicks

Craig, Thanks for the post. By chance do you know of a mandrel you can by from possible msc or enco that would hold a surface grinding wheel and then be chucked into a mill?

    Kitchen Knives

Sean, I had Paul Bos heat treat the steel. I thinned the steel down some, but CPM has a natural flex to it especially over the length of these knives. It's not alot and I wish it had more, but I think these will be good knives.
