    Anyone Doing C.A.D. Drawings??

Eric, that is a very generous offer. On my part, I really want to learn how to do it myself, that way I'm not relying on the kindness of others. I did manage to score a copy of autocad... Now I just have to learn how to use it!

    Stabbed myself ouch!!!!!!!!

That stinks man. Good lesson to learn though. It's never the long days in the shop that hurt you. It's always the quick five minutes, when your attention is divided on what you are going to do when you are done!

Your thoughts on West System Resin and hardners??

I personally love the West Systems GFlex. I use it in all of my knives now, and have never had even close to an issue with it holding.

    Anyone Doing C.A.D. Drawings??

I'm needing to do something similar. I do my designs in neu.draw on my iPad and can export them as a PDF. Is there a free and reliable way to convert them to dxf for laser cutting? Thanks

    CTS-XHP and CPM S35 VN..Any Good?

I've dabbled with s30v and elmax, both with great results. I've had some ask about the XHP and 35 as well, but I'm just honest with people. I'll tell them I dont know much about the metals, but I can shape anything, and the manufacturers will tell me how to heat treat it. From what I've seen...

    Personal knife

definitely a better starting point for you. From that picture, I would say handle ergonomics would be an issue. I'd tweak that out a bit, and try making a knife. that drawing program looks pretty cool. what is it?

    Personal knife

Honestly, I'd start over with designing. Begin with a specific purpose - stabbing, slashing, bludgeoning, etc... through the millennia, several people have tried to invent the "all in one" combat bladed weapon, but every one of them falls short in one category or another - if not all. So I'd...

Shop Tip of the Day - Add yours here

Put some dish soap in your dunk bucket. When you dip between passes on the grinder, the small particles won't stay in a layer on top of the water. This lets me keep the same bucket of water in use for much longer than before

    Bolivian Rosewood trailing point skinner

Hello ladies and gents. Here is a trailing point skinner I just finished up. It is based on one of the many great designs left to all of us by Lloyd Harding when he passed. This is #3 out of a run of 5 different Harding designs I am producing. The first two were gifts for family, and the...

    Band Saw blades for G10??

Holy Cow! You're a genius. I have a tile saw sitting in my garage, and never even though about using it for G10 or micarta. Fantastic tip!

    Tactical?

Former Marine here too. 1999-2005 My thoughts about defining tactical for any type of gear, including knives: constructed from tough and resilient materials that can stand up to adverse conditions, all materials finished with non-reflective surfaces, and constructed to be tougher and to...

    Band Saw blades for G10??

I use the harbor freight bimetal blades. Like JDW mentioned, I set the saw up for slower cut when doing g10. Unfortunately it seems g10 is hell on blades regardless of make. It does seem strange that I can profile out d2 all day long without damaging the blade, but I have to go real slow...
